In a nutshell… we improve the mental health and wellbeing of your people through training and one to one support.
We’re comfortable with uncomfortable topics. We make it easier to talk about things like mental health and bereavement at work. Through our work, we help your people develop the same confidence to have these conversations—so together we can create workplaces that are more open, understanding, and supportive. When this happens, employees are happier, build better relationships, and your business benefits.
If anyone on your team is struggling with their mental health, we can help with tailored online workshops and one-to-one support. We also support managers in developing the skills and confidence they need to talk with their teams about mental health.
We help you develop happier, healthier employees.
And that makes a happier, healthier business.
We’re striving to help build a world where everyone feels supported, comfortable, and confident when discussing mental health challenges at work. We want to eliminate the fear of judgement and stigma that can prevent people from talking about mental health-related topics in the workplace.
We aim to remove the awkwardness, embarrassment, and fear of saying the wrong thing around mental health. Our goal is to help every organisation become a place where talking about mental health is natural and encouraged.
Employees are more likely to stay with an organisation that invests in their development and wellbeing. Showing a commitment to mental health helps attract and retain top talent.
We help you create an environment where employees feel supported, valued, and empowered. When people feel comfortable discussing mental health, engagement naturally improves.
With regular training and support, your people gain the skills and confidence they need to excel in their roles, improving overall performance.
Our training and coaching helps managers and employees alike to develop their leadership and interpersonal skills, creating a more skilled and inclusive workforce.
We’re here to make lasting improvements to people’s mental health in the workplace.
The three pillars of our mission are:
We educate people about the impact of mental health challenges at work, break down stereotypes, and provide practical tools to address these topics with confidence.
We give managers and team leaders the confidence, resources, and knowledge they need to support their teams’ mental health. By reducing pressure on HR teams, we enable more constructive relationships between team members and their line managers.
We encourage managers to build supportive working relationships, which creates a culture where colleagues, peers, and leaders feel comfortable discussing mental health.
In 2010, our founder Emma Tomes had her life turned upside down when her eldest son’s father died by suicide. She realised just how little she knew about mental health and made it her mission to learn more—not just to help her own family but to prevent other families from going through similar tragedies.
Along the way, Emma discovered how hard it was to find the right support. That’s why she founded The Mental Health People—to provide the help she wished had been available back then. Our goal is to equip individuals with the skills to recognise mental health challenges, offer immediate support, and connect people to professional help when needed.
Since then, we’ve supported thousands of people through difficult times and major changes. By acting early, we aim to prevent crises, reduce risks, and improve long-term outcomes.
